Personally wouldn't touch a new one but old ones and the many many derivatives are great.

I own five old ones now it seems, two small box black Russians, one bubble font black one Tall Font Green and a 70s (Ram's Head) Little Big Muff.

Owned a few over the years (regular US ones, black Russian ones), but currently have two. A newish one (w/ Tone Wicker) and a clone built by @moose. I like 'em but the sound of them is everywhere. I find that I go off them periodically but always come back to them. I also find that they don't sit that well in a chain of more then a few pedals, even if they go early in the chain. They can get really muddy/muffled.

You'll have to get a spin on the that Little Big Muff I got Mark. You should call in to the new gaff at some point actually and bring that Mr Black pedal with ya.
