My ukulele has kinda become my go-to instrument for jamming and open mics. It sounds lovely when you play it quietly, but for livelier songs when you're strumming it hard it's not so pleasant. For example

Was thinking of maybe getting a tenor guitar and tuning it like a uke. Anyone any experience with them?

I made an electric one - albeit a shortscale (17'') tenor tuned cgda.

good aul fun. I'm probably going to make either a 22'' scale one another 17'' one in the next year.

Yeah was thinking of that too. How does it sounds?

she doesn't tune it in the same way you'd tune a cavaquinho, she says; she tunes it a bit lower. but still sounds like a small trebly guitar.
