Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden (1988) (1 Viewer)

I listened to this twice last night on cans.
I enjoyed it,Its a lovely sounding impressionistic painting of an album...but theres not a whole lot going on

See how I feel after a spin on the speakers tonight

I would actually consider buying this and adding it to my "soundtracks" pile. Its one for dipping in and out of and not focusing too hard.

Might change my mind later

Brand new to me too. Talk Talk are one of those bands I've always meant to check out but never got around to it. Great to have an excuse to do so now. Looking forward to this.
Exact same boat, I've been meaning to check out Talk Talk for years as they seem to be name-dropped by so many (and varied) different bands that I like.

Here, what is it with the Thumped Album Club and irritating lead vocals? Hollis is tough going too.

Also, it's been a total sausage fest so far, WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT US?
The inevitable Joanna Newsom album will address the sausage fest point but maybe not the irritating lead vocals situation.

This album on acid & a pinch of some other stuff is pretty fucking great.

Anyone ever hear Hollis' solo album?

It's very sparse and quiet. I have a CD of it but have never really listened to it much. Might do so now as God knows I have listened to SOE enough times by now. SOE if one of the few records that I have owned more than one vinyl copy of (from wearing out the first one like).
