Formed in Blackpool, Lancashire in 1977 and perhaps the most maverick of the bands that were part of the now legendary Factory Records roster (Joy Divison, A Certain Ratio, The Durutti Column, New Order), Section 25 return to the live scene after nearly two decades.
Initially produced by Ian Curtis and Rob Gretton (Girls Don't Count, 7”, 1980) they went on to record with Martin Hannett (Always Now, LP, 1981) and subsequently with Bernard Sumner (From The Hip, LP, 1984).
Taking their name from a provision of the Mental Health Act, they have continually and successfully fused hypnotic basslines, loops and feedback with thrusting motorik drums and assertive vocal statements to produce a truly unique and rousing sound. Section 25 will release their new record this year through LTM records.

About Now
Dublin-based four-piece Luggage completed their line-up in early 1994 with the addition, on bass, of Rachel (ex-Into Paradise). Since then they have steadfastly stuck to their mission - to short-circuit people's expectations!
Their distinctive and broad-ranging sound spans abrasive R&B and comically maudlin torch ballads laced with guitar, all with a post-modern twist that emphasises the multi-layered approach that the band brings to their compositions. And that approach has already caused Luggage to be described as "the missing link between Pere Ubu, Wire and Pulp"!!
Asimilar twist characterizes Barry¼s lyrics, with song topics that range from ghosts to science fiction, and from kitchen sink dramas to glum glamour, love, life and the after-life. Suffice it to say there is ne¼er a hint of "rock lyrics of the leather trouser variety".
If you're looking for "influences" try The Kinks, Roxy Music, The Sex Pistols, Stax, Scott Walker, Dusty Springfield. That doesn't give the full picture, but it's a start.
The band's first release, a four-track EP "Meantime", was released as a joint venture by Dublin labels blunt and Independent in early October. The follow-up four-track, "Comical Life" EP, saw the light of day at the end of November.
On the live front Luggage have supported Pulp, Edwyn Collins and Gallon Drunk, amongst others. The band's first BBC Peel Session was aired on 13th January, and they toured the UK in March.
Luggage have an album comprised of their first two EPs together with 4 brand new songs ready for release in 1997. They also had a previously unreleased track featured on the Zip Up Your Boots For The Showbands compilation. They are currently writing songs for their debut album proper.
Luggage's aim is to communicate rather than confound. They want to engage the audience, rather than push them away. Naturally, being Luggage they succeed.

Somewhere over one third of the way into the first decade of the new millennia in the long dank winter of 2003/2004, three young world weary musicians T.Krane and his child-hood friends and companions The Rooster and Dr Raymond Krane, sat up and dusted themselves down. After some time spent floating in the stratosphere after the implosion of various different musical projects they began to gravitate slowly back to earth and began to realise that time had been kind to their souls and minds but the musical landscape they now co-habited looked considerably dull and un-moving. So with a newly found hunger our heros began to rejuvenate themselves, not unlike a worm or maggot that gets stood on, breaks into many pieces and grows happily and multiplies into some more worms or maggots. They soon began to establish their very own Palmer Space Studios. An other worldly environment specifically set up for the purpose of creating challenging uncompromising electronic pop music. Buried deep within these smokey hallowed walls, through rigorous experimentation with vintage electronics, tribal drums and undying love for popular music and popular culture, a six-legged avant- groove machine monster was born. Now under the moniker TWINKRANES our heros had returned from a long and truly strange migration.

The Skinny Wolves club is a monthly club night which takes place in the HUB on Eustace St, Temple Bar, Dublin.
Doors open & DJ's Start at 9pm and the night finishes at 2.30am.
