This will be available on extra fancy limited edition blue 12" (woo) and digital download from loadsa different places (aah). There'll be copies in the shops and also available at the gigs we'll be doing around the country and hopefully Engerland as part of the Everything Flows Tour in February 2008. Check our gig list for details, which we will be adding at a ferocious rate once various thingumajigs are finalised."

April to critical acclaim, is available for around a tenner in all
records stores, and on www.superextrabonusparty.com. The 13-track

"Probably the most inventive irish album this decade. Brimming with
energy and exoticness." -4/5 stars Sunday Tribune

"Super Extra Bonus Party kick out the jams with a barrage of
magnificent sounds and shapes... There's clattering electro, hypnotic
indie-pop drones, a bit of dreamy ambience, a belt of dirty hip hop
rudeboyisms, and moments where all of the above appear to come
perfectly together in one very deep and wide soundclash. "4/5 stars-
Irish Times

"The schizophrenic sequencing and magpie eclecticism of Super Extra
Bonus Party's debut is a joyous sign of the times. The mix CD
sensibility leads us on an emotional, exhausting but ultimately
satisfying journey. It begins, like many great records, with a
rousing instrumental; a trumpet that pierces the silence, slippery
cut-ups darting back and forth in the background, tropical percussion
gets us on our feet..."- Foggy Notions

"Brilliant Stuff" - Hot Press

"Contender for Iish album of the year? You betcha... one of the most
diverse and eclectic Irish albums of recent memory.. an ambitious
album which takes in jump-up electronica, indie-pop belters, hip hop
workouts with dabbles of ambient and heavier rock sounds." -
Nialler9.com (Irish music blog of the year)

"A collection of big beat sounds and high energy electronic pop
sounds with lots of dubby effects thrown in for good measure... as
the band name suggests it is perfect uptempo party music." - Road
Records

CAPTAIN MOONLIGHT

THE MOONLIGHT MANIFESTO (Straight Outta Kilkenny) "Hip hop star slams Bertie and his Dail buddies as 'dirty c**ts'", screamed page eleven of The Daily Star on February 23rd this year. The ball was in Captain Moo nlight's court, all he had to do was release the infamous song from his debut album as a single. Would he budge? Would he fuck... On his own terms, Captain Moonlight (real name, Kevin Spratt) has built up a big following by playing across the country promoting Agroculture Pt. 1, a razor-edged 15-track collection, each track as pertinent as the other; the man's vision is too wide to single out one song as his theme tune. One minute we're on the brink of a revolution, the next we're on the sidelines at a hurling match, ready for a pitch invasion; another minute we're putting religious freaks in their place, the next we're waking up after a night on the tiles to find ourselves in a particularly disgusting situation - every other minute we're laughing, because that's all we can do to stop ourselves falling over the side of this rotten sphere at times - laugh into the void. His name comes from the land wars of the late 19th Century (look up your history books), and now we find ourselves in another kind of land war – we can’t afford to buy houses in our own country. So we need a new Captain Moonlight; not the angry peasant mob of old, but an angry voice given a forum through the velvet rifle of popular music…the kids ain’t stupid, things can change! Dirty Cunts might have earned him time on Today FM's Five Seven Live to hold his own in a political discussion, but, more recently, Now We’re Hurlin' earned him a spot on the GAA magazine show, Park Lives. Captain Moonlight is a many-folded marvel: obsessive about politics and philosophy, literature and music, downing crates of ale and (perhaps, most importantly) Hurling! On the former song: "it is not a personal attack or a criticism of any one party in particular. I just don't like any of them." On the latter song: "I love hurling, it's like a religion to me and everybody in this city. I regard it as music through sport. It's so intense." Many would like to push him aside and label him a foul-mouthed scumbag who hasn't a clue what he's talking about, but how wrong they'd be; Mr. Spratt is an articulate, well-read (maybe too well-read), intelligent young(ish) man who can deliver the funniest story of everyday desperation as if it's a declaration of war, and who can deliver an incitement to riot as if it's a Monty Python sketch; seriousness and humour, book smarts and street smarts, a savage hunger to have the fat leaders of men hanged in the streets, and an ability to just collapse, shake his head and surrender laughing at the absurdity of it all. And we haven't even gotten down to the music yet - here we go...

On Friday January 20th 2006 in his hometown of Kilkenny, Captain Moonlight launched his debut album in his regular boozer, the Pumphouse: Agroculture Pt. 1. Along to the cold, fresh waves of instantly catchy, pulsing music, these tales are told by a normal guy in his own accent; a dangerously clever individual who doesn't showboat his knowledge, who talks fluent prole like the everyman he champions. "I'm proud of where I come from and I don't think it's a big deal if I have a strong accent. It is a bit of a trademark. I'd sound really stupid if I started rapping in some other accent." Intelligent lyrics are as rare in hip hop these days as toothy hens, but we're spoiled here; the music is varied, the beats are inspired, and not once over the 15 tracks does it feel like we've heard the same thing twice. Apart from the in-your-face attack of Dirty Cunts, there is little in the way of swearing, just the odd four-letter filler here and there, just like real speak; rest assured there's no bozo alpha-male posturing here, no chauvinism, no racism - no 'isms' at all really, apart from a healthy smattering of nihilism. Perhaps what we're pushing to the side here is that it's music you can dance to; you get so caught up in the cleverness and on-the-ball delivery of the lyrics that you nearly take in the music as a secondary concern - that would be a shame. This music would be listenable to on its own, it's a bass-heavy, style-hopping brew, reinforced with fresh twists and turns that keep it as far from the grip of monotony as taste is from the grasp of Robbie Williams fans. As a life-long hip hop enthusiast, he knows exactly where to drop the needle. Here comes a man with Public Enemy on his walkman, and in each of his four pockets there's some reading material: in one there's Nietzsche, in the second there's a hurling programme; in the third there's Marx, and in the fourth there's a take-out menu for the Chinese. Oh yeah, and it's great to see a rapper live who's free of all those annoying hand movements too, not to mention shiny tracksuits, 'bling' and baseball hats... It took a nation of four million to hold him back. Not for much longer! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The Moonlight quotes were taken from an article in the Sunday Independent of February 19 2006 by Larissa Nolan The opening quotes were by Frank O'Connell from his piece 'Full Of C-Rap' which appeared in The Star on February 23 2006.
