I've never tried it.

Do I win a medal for most pointless post, or has pelviscostello got them all monopolised for the rest of the year?

my initials spell out SPAM, but alas i have never feasted on my namesake. the brother bought a souvenir can of the stuff when he went to see spamalot in new york but it just sits on his shelf gathering dust

I've had shite loads of it. Its a backpacking necessity. You can do anything with it. Hot or cold.
Do you know where Spam comes from?

Spig.

My dad developed a taste for this during the war (yes, he's that old), so we had it in the house all the time. It's only gorgeous grilled. Or made into fritters. Or in a salad!

I think this is where my taste for highly processed fake meat products comes from, all the meat I liked before I was a veggie was processed to fuck. Actually, veggie bacon resembles grilled spam a lot more than rashers, but if they marketed it as SoySpam it probably wouldn't sell much....

There is a Spam cook book you can get in Past Times, my mum has forbidden me to buy it for my Dad.

this came up in my google ads when I was deleting items in my spam folder. Think I'll give it a go tomorrow.
Coronary on a plate.

White Trash Quiche
6 slices White bread; torn in small pieces
1 1/4 cup Milk
3 Eggs
1 tablespoon Spicy mustard
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
1 can (12 oz size) Spam luncheon meat, cubed
2 cups Shredded Cheddar cheese; divided
1/2 cup Chopped onion
1/2 cup Shredded Monterey Jack cheese

In a large mixing bowl, combine bread, milk, eggs, mustard, garlic powder and paprika. With electric mixer, beat at medium speed 1 minute or until smooth. Stir in Spam, 1 cup cheddar cheese, and onion. Pour into a greased 12- by 8-inch baking dish. Bake 25 minutes. Top with remaining cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Making this tonight. Can't find Jack in Ireland, so I'll use a bit of mozerella or maybe brie. Think I'll also swap the milk with cream and sour cream.
