New Bill Callahan.

I just heard it today. Its a thing of beauty. Best album I've heard all year - not a duff track on it. Its a lush, pastoral affair. First album of his I've liked since Supper.

He ain't a smog no more, thats for sure.

Not a patch on River 'Aint Too Much To Love IMHO.

Favourite album so far this year.

Here's his recording diary:

i have yet to get this album...

notice he has 3 dates scheduled for the uk in august... anyone know if he's being brought over here?

definitely going to play 'Eid Ma Clack Shaw' and 'All thoughts are prey to some beast' on my radio show this wednesday

It's a very nice record, great development of the River Ain't Too Much To Love -> Whaleheart sound.. That last song is probably 4 or 5 minutes longer than it needs to be though. Bill certainly likes his horses, rivers and birds, doesn't he?

I know, I'm half thinking of heading over to Rock en Seine this year to see him, the tickets are dirt cheap, relatively speaking

Yeah that last track goes nowhere very very slowly. I do like most of the album, but I have to be honest and say I think it's a little boring in places.
