Slow cooked chicken (1 Viewer)

Took two frozen thighs out of the freezer after work.

Quickly seared them brown on the skin side in a small pot and then flipped them, put the lid on and turned the gas down to its lowest.
Tossed in a few garlic cloves.

Went to the hockey game. Came back two and a half hours later to the tenderest pieces of chicken you ever did taste.

Ha. I was out for a good 5 hours +. So I think it is fine.
It was perfect for me, in that I got tons of great clear stock, the meat was juicy, and the bones and meat separated easily without the carcass disintegrating.

The bulb of garlic I put in the cavity came out soft, but not squishy.

I don't know that I'll do 'go out' chicken any other way again. Very happy.
I'll get the week out of this.

Why not buy a slow cooker? They are like 30 quid and work a treat. Cook a tasty chicken in 4 hours and you can leave the house. Throw it in the grill for a few minutes if you want the skin to crisp a bit.

Edit, that was for Nooly. Also I stuff my chickens with lemons and garlic.
