If you want to carry it on you can pay 8 something online to prebook it. I did it recently because I couldn't face the stress of the baggage check when I already had to get up at 3:30 for my flight.

trying to do this now for similar reasons but doesn't seem to be an option, sold out apparently?? why do they have to fuck around with this stuff.
