Registerin for VAT (1 Viewer)

its a doddle to get registered, but do you HAVE to? its a pain in the arse giving vatman 21% of everything you bring in - as well as filling in those returns every 8-10 weeks

http://www.revenue.ie/ should have all the info
Surely not as much of a pian as givin vatman 21% of everything I spend on recordin etc etc...and then not recouping any vat on record sales neither (although this is curiously less of an issue)

Is it a mess if you're not already registered as a business and whatnot?

you can register as a business and vat for free. in order for vat to work though you have to be bringing in money, otherwise the vat man will get pissed off sending you cheques when you;re meant to be sending him cheques. then if you are bringing in money, you have to ask yourself do you want to add more to your prices to cover the vatman.

and to think people dont even get paid for collecting the money for them bastards
