i dont want to hear any 'ehhh i dont vote because there's no one to vote for' pinky lefty shit. the last election was based on 67% of the country, so technically the govt you despise may never have existed if you got off your hole in 2007.

When there is someone worth voting for I'll register, until then I really don't see the point. They're all the same.

a good candidate might turn up and you'll have left it too late to register.

do they take you off the register every so often? I've checked all my previous addresses and I can't find myself anywhere. This is probably due to me working at the last few polls and messing around with getting my vote transferred to different polling stations

I'll be voting for a guy who was in a year below me in school that's running for the Socialist Party. I may not fully agree with them but it's the best choice and he's a good dude.

I'm listed. But I don't think I want to vote. The strongest politician up my way is Fine Gael and I'd feel dirty voting for them. Everyone else is shite and I'd probably feel dirty voting for them too.

thats the kind of situation i'm in at every election. this week i will be voting in the donegal biolection and they are all sketchy for different reasons. The reason i tick a box is that if i'm part of the 32% who dont vote, i'm essentially empowering the people i really really dont support more so than if i do vote.

I might be reading that wrong, but essentially your saying that you'd happily live in a dictatorship till superman comes along. I vote to split the %'s.

Well, I'm going to blame all the people who do vote when the next bunch of clowns flushes the remains down the toilet

could you be convinced to spoil your vote? spoiled votes are a lot more worthwhile than not participating.

edit:

imagine the flavor of the present day if 32% had spoiled in 2007.

I'm still registered in donegal so it'll be Donegal Greens (not part of the green party) and independents. There's too high a chance of Fianna Fail keeping seats up there to not vote.

A fair number of friends of mine are not on the register this time around, even though they have always voted. It seems a bit strange, but might might just be the usual beauracratic fuck up. They've already sent in their forms.

You have till tomorrow.
