Hi, looking to get a record player stand. Need enough space on top for the player and 2 speakers and storage for about 100 lps. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Obvious option is Ikea's kallax a four shelf version will store over 200 LPs but I'm not sure you could fit a player and speakers on top with the 8 compartment version maybe. Also it's very light weight so sound quality wise you'd want something with more density to absorb vibration see the second photo here where someone added extra timber which also offers more speaker positioning.

Otherwise I'd suggest the second hand furniture market or try to build something yourself.
Either of these would be perfect. Even the top one suit me grand. Record player has a built in pre amp so don’t have to worry about where to put a separate amplifier

Well in that case,of course you need pretty shelves.

A mate of mine years ago got into the ugly records/they need to go etc argument with his girlfriend.

She was promptly told "they were here before you were and will still be here after you go"

Of course they didn't last.

The records? Did he not store them properly?

Here, speaker positioning is really important too, and a small unit will make any investment in nice gear redundant.

I'm sure there's a proper rule of thumb guide, but I've always thought speakers should be at least 6 feet apart, and both slightly angled so they're pointing to wherever your head will be most often. Depending on the speaker they may also need some distance between the rear of the speaker and any wall/cupboard wall.
