Decent little set of free plugins. EQs, Compressors, all that jazz. The reverb and delay are pretty useful, too.

Non-Cheap Plugins

Chandler Limiter. Amazing, if not terribly versatile. Amazing though.

Great plugins here, the N-Series and A-Series being big favourites of mine.

Amazing Delay. Amazing Filters. Amazing Effects.

How stable are those VST to RTAS wrappers?

A plugin can be CPU heavy as it is, with a wrapper running underneath suggests to me a superfast machine is the only way to cope...

Would I be correct in thinking that?

URS Saturation -

Very cool distortion/saturation effect. In the same ballpark as Massey Tapehead, but a bit more versatile and tweakable. Does very cool things to drums, bass, vocals, guitars, you name it!

Sonnox EQ -

I have way too many EQs already, but I still had to buy this. If you can only have one quality EQ plugin, I'd say this is the one to go for. Sounds great, and versatile as hell - everything from broad boost to super-narrow notches. Only downsides are the hpf only goes up to 400hz and there's no phase flip button. Still, buy it.

Sonnox Reverb

I demo'ed a couple of plugins looking for a nice plate sound with no latency so I can run it in PTLE without headaches. This dude delivers, and can also do a whole load of other sounds on top.

AirWindows AU plugins -

I've yet to pull these up on the auld Mac, but I keep hearing great things.. a bunch of free and very cheap plugins.
