There are a number of cheapo tipples that are pretty delicious that I have recently discovered.

This one here is €15 from Tesco (700ml bottle) and is a fairly palatable drink along the lines of your Jim Beam or Jack Daniels (but of course at 50% of less than the price tag on the two latter Bourbons). I was going to also recommend Western Gold from Lidl (roughly €15) but I have not been able to find it of late, think it may have been discontinued (probably after making a load of hobos go blind or something). Western Gold was even more similar to JD.

The above is also available from Tesco priced at €20.99 for a 700ml bottle and makes a decent beverage when mixed with ginger ale and a slice of lime.

Any other recommendations?

Mentioned elsewhere earlier today.

Aldi's "Oliver Cromwell Dry Gin"

Highly rated by gin fans. Irish Republicans may wish to decant into a vessel that doesn't bear the name of the hated Cromwell.

This is just as good as Bombay Sapphire and almost as good as Dingle Gin- and is much, much cheaper. I can't see the Irish price online but trust me on this.
