I'll pass on the kind words. We're still getting to grips with getting prints and postage and packaging costs. Early buyers have the advantage there.. postage is very expensive these days!

The prints are from paintings that have been scanned by a crowd that specialise in large artwork scans. They are very impressive. Also the prints are posh and look great.

She's getting Stay City scanned on Friday.

HMMMM

I was just about to buy a reissue discography LP on discogs from a fave band from North America...
the album was reasonable at about 22 Euros for a really nice package.
the postage was about 18 Euro which I could stomach.
but then the EU put 9 Euro VAT on top of that.
total 49 Euro - I never had to pay duty on anything until the other day in 28 years buying records by mail.

another UK order came to £63.50 on discogs then added £18.50 postage and £18.87 VAT.

I didn't bother completing either purchase in the end.

this is big shock to the system and the implications are massive.
if there is no way around this ('tick gift ') buying from outside Europe is almost dead now and not far off from the UK.

My music buying has pretty much dropped to almost nothing as I've been priced out of the artists and labels I want to support by shipping costs. Even buying from a shop locally doesn't help, they don't seem to get much of a discount for wholesale anymore so the prices on the shelf are around the same as including the postage in the first place. A real pity.

well said.
taxing records when the artists and probably the labels and distributors involved were unlikely to have made much or any money themselves is a sick joke.
if the EU are serious about international cultural exchange why put VAT on records, books etc from outside Europe? it's really shortsighted - yeah I am naive.

I am ranting here but less records will be made and bought because of this - right across the board.

New Marillion pre-order went live the other day. I bought the deluxe edition unsigned. Comes in a box with a million pages, CD and DVD with your name in the credits etc.
