Hello.

I play through a lovely Roland Jazz Chorus.

It's a single channel amp, which I guess is a bit of a pain. But I've noticed at the back there's an input for a footswitch that says it's for switching channels. BUT IT'S A SINGLE CHANNEL AMP.

What gives?

I should add it's a JC90 I own.
It's apparently a "distortion" footswitch input.
So if I get any old bog standard footswitch I can switch distortion on and off? Despite it being a single channel amp?

I'm an idiot. I would ask the guy I bought it off but I'm afraid of being snorted and/or scoffed at.

Don't loads of single channel amps have distortion built in? Surely this amp just adds distortion to the clean channel no?

Yeah that's pretty much it. Single channel, you just turn distortion up and down.
So I guess I could get a footswitch to just turn it on and off?
