don't wanna hijack the thread but what did you make of Minneapolis? spent small amount of time there heading up/coming down from a place called Ely, way up north of the state nearly ten years ago. spent a saturday afternoon having a few brews in bars around minneapolis. seemed deserted. obviously, based on its music history its a happening place. city during the day seemed pretty bleak. big place, maybe i was in the wrong part

It was a house party scene mostly. the bar was a medium between drinking cans in various locations. I spent loads of time between about 5 house shares and it was luxury night to go the pub.

My first recollection of seeing him was a dress rehearsal for one of his early tours. I was next to another musician, a couple other guys that were up-and-comers and that thought they were hot shit, and we were watching Prince. The guy turned to me and said, "I'm fucking embarrassed to be alive."

Can't believe Prince is dead. Out of nowhere, at 57 too! I thought he would have outlived everyone from that era. He was a genius. Damn. RIP
