post apocalyptic/dystopian films (1 Viewer)

I didn't realise this margaret atwood chick was cool until someone told me so last week. Has anyone read any of her books?

Margaret Atwood is a class writer

Oryx & Crake is one of my favourite books in the dystopia genre....the follow up, Year of the flood is pretty good too.

On films, my brother told me to check out Stake Land : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1464580/

He said it's The Road meets Zombies meets Vampires...sounds cool

I sat through Zardoz a while back. It sucked eggs.

Woody Allen's The Sleeper is spoof-dystopian. Very funny and fun to watch too.

I watched 9 - an animated post-apocalyptic movie about puppets surviving the aporkalypse or some such crap. It was ok. Had frodo baggins as one of the voices which didn't help.

But Wall-e. Yeah, class.

Saw Mad Max 2 in the cinema last week. Fucking hilarious. Umongous is soooo ridiculous it's brilliant!

In Ireland?

I think I have seen that more than any other film ever....but just once on the big screen (on a double bill with Mad Max)

Yep, it was in Screen Cinema, which often shows old films these days, and is great. It was also a double-bill with Mad Max! I couldn't be arsed going to see the first one though, for some reason. Oh yeah, I was too busy, that was it.

I watched Spielberg's War Of The Worlds last night. It's still fucking deadly

I was kinda hoping the kids would get killed off at some stage. They kinda ruined it for me.

Ruiwned it.
