Quiet Earth was a goodun alright - I went through the same love for dystopian films too. The Postman put me off for a few years mind..

I think one of the reasons I love HalfLife2 so much on the xbox is that feeling of a post apocalyptic world is so well done.

Anyway - that list is pretty good, but there's also movies like Hardware, Mad Max 2 and 3 (in order of quality) and a whole pile of eastern european ones I can't remember the name of.

The Road looks like it'll be good too..

I like when the Italians rip the main stream ones:

Bronx Warriors 1+2 (Escape from NY rip off)

Warriors of the Wasteland (Mad Max 2 rip off)

There are dozens of these made..

Class of 1984 was much better (its futuristic as it was made way back in 1982).

Rodney McDowell was great - as was Michael J Fox hopped up on goofballs.

'Do I get the gig, teacher?'

If you like your post apocalyptic films with a hefty dose of cheese check - Damnation Alley.
