Portishead - Third (2 Viewers)

i am sceptical...

...and since i don't know you, nothing has changed with your post...

sorry...

p.s. i hope you are right

i remember sitting on the roof BITD arguing that portishead would have more longevity than tricky because they had better songs. boy did time prove me wrong.

i've listened to the album for the past few days and i thik it could be one of the best albums of the decade, i know its very early to say anything like that.

Its Beth Gibbons vocals over amazing music going from Autechre to Kraftwerk.

The Rip and Machine Gun would be those two sort of songs

I had a listen to this in a mate's gaff at the weekend. And all I can say is that there will be at least one great album this year. It is AWESOME!

Any Stylistic changes????

I always though Portishead's main problem was that they kind of did everything so perfectly on Dummy, they had nowhere to go after that.

Yeah they've added bits here and there, more electronic in places. Though it's still very much a portishead record.

I'm really liking it so far, 'We Carry On' is deadly.

The only thing worse than Portashed is that godawful Beth Gibbon and Rusty Sheriffs Badge record. Fuck and hell!

OK I concur, it's brilliant.

Don't know about album of the decade, but it's certainly the first great record I've heard this year.
