Pink Floyd (1 Viewer)

LOL

did they not have a massive court battle in the late 80s/early 90s over the rights to use the name? And Gilmour, Mason and Wright, won it.

One the one hand he has a point - Pink Floyd's legacy is a result of the output of 5 musicians. However, Pink Floyd is a brand now, and that brand is owned by Gilmour. Like it or lump it, that's how it is.

I think he gave up his legal challenge in 80s, probably because Gilmour & Co were raking in the cash in the stadiums and he wasn't. Gilmour was in tears about all that in one of the promo videos for The Shite Years box set last year.

overall its a good podcast but I thought this one was particularly good, especially the bits where he's talking about Syd Barrett.

Yea, but he still played guitar through some stacks with no shirt on in pompeii.

Pure ride.

And auctioned all his guitars off for charity.
