ok found a couple of possible issues

- 95% storage utilisation. that's not great.
- a few suggestions in MySQLTuner for InnoDB RAM settings that should be increased

That’s the problem - it’s nothing obvious. Low server load, low memory usage, IO is fine, i still have SSH access when it falls over so I just restart httpd and it comes back. Have some log files to read through now….

whats the underlying OS?

exhausted inode pool?

bounded java processes?

CentOS v7.9.2009 . No problem with inodes and I don't think it's Java related.

maybe not. 1g for elasticsearch should be enough. Not sure what the one below it is but 512 isn't a lot. No harm hacking the init scripts and giving extra heap to both (double it to hell)

I'm optimistic that the innodb changes have sorted at least some of the issues.

cpanel solr is a full text indexer for IMAP mailboxes. Don't need it so it's going now anyway.

No I think it’s me. Still not sure what the problem is. It’s not server load, but something somewhere is choking.

years and years and years ago i did actually host the site on a windows server. Didn't last long if i remember correctly.
