was famously sent off in injury time against Argentina for clattering Claudio Caniggia -

my dad managed to be, not exactly in the wrong place at the wrong time, but near the wrong place at the wrong time, a couple of times.
he was in derry on bloody sunday (though not in the bogside) and not quite line of sight to one of the dublin bombs in 1974 - he was standing roughly where the molly malone statue was initially placed at the bottom of grafton street.
he was also once picked up and questioned by the IRA in derry, for about half an hour.

Dr. Gabriel Ochoa Uribe (1929 - 9 July 2020)
Football manager who was a Colombian Champion 18 tmes (14 as a coach).

as a goalkeeper he was a four time League winner with Millonarios (playing
alongside Di Stefano). he once played outfield in an emergency for Millonarios
and scored in a 7-1 away win over Bucaramanga.
Ochoa Uribe later managed the club to another 6 Championships (1959-72).
he also won another title with Santa Fe in 1966 before to returning to his home
town club America Cali where he started his career.
there Ochoa Uribe won another 7 Championships (1979-1990) but three runs to
the Copa Libertadores final (1985-87) all ended in defeat.
he retired in 1991.

Ochoa Uribe also briefly managed Colombia twice - in 1963 and 1985 (while w/ America Cali).
