There's this lovely moment in this when she comes across a photo of her by then deceased parents, and realises she is now older than they were when they passed;
"They were never young, and now they're young"

RIP

I'd like to see the film, but that's the kind of thing that would start the onion chopper for me straight away.

My ma was telling me about him passing away. She has great memories of going to see him back during the showband era

It is a lot of reflection on life, but it's lovely to see someone that found something they loved doing and then did it for their whole life.
Not super weepy.

Roger Decock (20 April 1927 - 31 May 2020)
Belgian cyclist.
i never heard of him but Roger was a classics rider (pro from 1949-61) who won
the 1951 Paris-Nice and 1952 Tour of Flanders.
(cool classically Belgian name by the way).

Ah I'm sorry to hear that, he was brilliant. We had to write him a letter when I was in first year in college...he had a project to wrap the footpaths in Stephen's Green. He wrote us a very nice reply. His sketches for the project are still up in the Hugh Lane.

Jean-Claude Hamel (1929- 2 June 2020)

Hamel became president of Auxerre (pop. 35,000) football club in 1963,
remaining at the helm until 2009.
for over 40 years Guy Roux was his manager as AJ Auxerre rose from the
fourth tier to promotion to Ligue 1 in 1980.
Auxerre remained there for 32 years becoming French Champs in 1996 and
winning 4 French Cups between 1994-2005 when Roux retired.

in Roux's era Auxerre were one the great success stories of not just French
but European football.
