People Who Died (7 Viewers)

From what I've read, Hackman is just not interested in the effort required

Like he said he'd make a movie, if it was set at his house and didn't disrupt his daily routine
May we all live to be old men that love retirement that much
Seems ripe for The Conversation II. House-bound octogenarian surrounded by state of the art surveillance gear.

That's a shame about Terry Jones.
Many years ago, I wrote to Monty Python and sent them a CD asking if I could use the name Mr Creosote. To my amazement, a few weeks later, I got a call from Michael Palin's P.A., who said "Michael thinks we should ask Terry, as its his character". But Terry was out of London, so I'd have to wait a while. I kinda forgot about it, and about 6 weeks later I got a letter in the post, with a photo of Mr Creosote covered in puke, signed "To Mr Creosote, best wishes, Mr Creosote". Needless to say, I was floored. I still have the photo, and an official "with our compliments" Monty Python slip. To say I was delighted (and still am), would be an understatement. Lovely, lovely fella.

Excuse me, because I'm going to tell a bunch of people this - you were making music under the name Mr. Creosote?

" and that's 1-0 (to Switzerland). but if you want to keep track of the scorers
let me advise you to have a pencil and notebook ready."

the match was played in 40 degree heat in Lausanne.
Suisse go 3-0 up with 3 goals between the 16 and 19 mins.
but then after 27 mins it's 3-3 after the Austrians score 3 goals in 3 minutes !
the Austrians then go 5-3 up in the 34th minute and then another goal in the
39 minute makes it 5-4 at half time.
in 42 min Austria miss a penalty... (later Hugi also scores a hat trick for Switzerland)
the second half wasn't that good really !

Howdy, yes, I had a split CDR with the brilliant Giveamanakick back in the day. I used the name for a concert in Italy about two years ago.

sadly Austrian Alfred Korner (1926 - 23 January 2020)
who scored twice in the above match has died two days after his
team mate Theodor Wagner.

Korner was also a striker. he won 7 Austrian championships with Rapid Vienna
and earned 47 caps, also playing in the 1958 WC.
his older brother Robert (1924-1989) also a striker, was a team mate for club
and country.

1967 Intercontinental Cup - Wikipedia

Juan Jose Pizzuti (1927 - 24 January 2020)

as a player Pizzuti was an Argentine international striker who won
the Copa Libertadores in 1959 with his main club Racing (two spells).
Pizzuti was a three time Argentine champ with Racing (58 and 61)
and Boca in 1962.
he was league top scorer in 1949 ( w/ Banfield) and 1953 (w/ Racing).

beginning with Banfield he also played for both sworn rivals River
Plate and Boca Juniors (a rarity).

in 1959 Pizzuti scored 3 goals to help Argentina win the Copa America.
he won 12 caps (4 goals) in total.

as coach of Racing Pizzuti led them to the national championship in
1966 and the 1967 Copa Libertadores.
a bad tempered two legged victory over Celtic gave Racing the
1967 Intercontinental title (World Championship).

after a disastrous campaign led to Peru qualifying for the 1970 World Cup
at Argentina's expense, Pizzuti became coach of the Argentina national team
from 1970-1972.

Rob Resenbrink (1947-2019)
one of Holland's greatest footballers has died from a form of Motor Neuron Disease.
after starting with defunct club DWS Amsterdam he played most of his
career in Belgium w/ Bruges (1969-71) and then Anderlecht (1971-80).

a left sided player Resenbrink played behind Cruyff in 1974 World Cup
he scored one goal in the tournament but after picking up an injury against
Brazil had to be substituted at half time in the final defeat to West Germany.
with Cruyff absent in the four years later Resenbrink was one stars of
Argentina 78.
he scored a hat trick against Iran and five goals in total.
in the final against Argentina he hit the post in injury time at the end of
90 minutes with the score at 1-1. Argentina won 3-1 a.e.t.
had Resenbrink scored the top scorer prize and player of the tournament
award would have been thrown in with the winners medal but Mario Kempes
took the plaudits instead.
Resenbrink won 46 caps (14 goals) between 1968-79.

Know very little about NBA but he was a big name, no?
"In the conversation" as they say here as one of the greatest ever
Probably a tiny tier below MJ and LeBron. Plus played in LA - so a massive celeb also.

Incredible player. Plenty of failings as a human being.
He raped a hotel worker and got away with it by having money.

You'd feel bad for the kids though.
