I somehow managed to spell BRONDBY wrong twice and not notice it.

Nobby had a hellish later life.
He suffered a stroke and a VERY prolonged battle with dementia.
If ever someone had obituaries written far in advance it was Nobby.

Nobby was married to John Giles sister and their son footballer John Stiles was
named after Giles. Giles also worked with coaches Nobby and Norman Hunter in his
second spell as West Brom manager in the mid 80's.
Nobby's final job in football was coaching the Man Utd class of 1992.
the Neville's, Scholes, Beckham et al always spoke of him in the highest terms.

Hardly need to say what he achieved as a player -
one of only two English players to win the League (twice), European Cup and play
in a World Cup Final winning team.

World Cup winner Stiles dies aged 78

Norbert was Nobby's given name
I had (wrongly) thought he had more than one stroke but he also had prostate cancer at the end.

when someone has suffered for such a long time the end is more of a merciful release.
John Stiles spoke in the documentary Alan Shearer made on dementia 2017 and left us
in no doubt how seriously ill his father was even at that point.
