maverick Argentine footballer.
he died a few days ago and i've since learned more about him and that sadly
Carlovich died as a result of head injuries suffered after falling when a guy tried to steal his bike.

Moreiras was a journeyman player who played in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador,
Chile and Bolivia.
at a Hotel in the Dominican Republic he was apparently arrested in a
disturbed state of mind and was beaten by police and died a few days later.
 
Pedro Pablo Leon (1943 - 9 May 2020)
Peruvian footballer.
'Perico' Leon was the number 9 in the Peruvian ream that reached the quarter finals
of the 1970 World Cup (losing 4-2 to eventual winners Brazil).
in the tournament he played along Teofilo Cubillas and a very young Hugo Sotil (who
later played alongside Cruyff at Barcelona) in the golden generation of Peruvian Football.
Leon scored the goal that gave Peru a 2-2 draw at the Bombonera in 1969 to qualify
at the expense of Argentina. he started all four matches in Mexico 70.
Leon won 49 caps (15 goals) between 1963-73.

Leon won three League titles with a great Alianza Lima side and was twice top scorer in Peru.
later in Ecuador he won a championship with Barcelona Quayaquil.

Football winger who spent 8 years at Real Madrid (1971-79) died of cancer aged 71.
at Madrid he won La Liga 6 times and 2 cups. he was capped 3 times (1 goal).

Andrea Rinaldi ( 23 June 2000 - 11 May 2020)
a youth product of Atalanta, Andrea had several spells on loan at lower division clubs.
this season Andrea was a key player on loan at Serie D club Legnano.
tragically the 19 year old took ill on Friday and died on Monday from a brain aneurysm.

Edin Spreco (1947 - 12 May 2020)
Bosnian Yugoslav footballer who played most of career as a winger with Zeljezincar.
Spreco was a Yugoslav champ with that club from Sarajevo in 1971-72. he won 3 caps
(2 goals), from 1967-69 but didn't make squad that lost to Italy in 1968 Euro Final.
Spreco later played abroad with NAC Breda and Rennes.

Redon played mostly in midfield, inc at Rennes, PSG, Metz and St. Etienne.
he then worked as a coach inc. taking charge of Cameroon (91-92).
back at Rennes (2002-2007) in a successful period for the club, Redon was assistant
to Vahid Halilhodzic.

Atilla Ladinsky (1949 - 14 May 2020)
also spelled as Ladinszky

striker Ladinsky defected while in Belgium in 1970 with the Hungarian national U-21 (or U-23) side.
most notably he played for Feyenoord, Anderlecht (Cup winner 1973 plus champion and top
scorer in Belgian League in 1973-74) and Betis.
in the 90's he returned to Hungary.
