Manchester DJ Pete Mitchell. Think he was on bbc radio and recently on virgin radio over there. I only know him from the finders keepers records podcasts with Andy Votel and Doug Shipton. Seemed like a really sound, knowledgable guy
 
Joaquin Peiro (1936 - 18 February 2020)

Spanish football forward who had a very successful career playing in 1962
and '66 World Cups, winning 12 caps / 5 goals.
at club level Peiro played for a string of big clubs winning trophies with
all of them: Atletico Madrid, Murcia (loan), Torino,
Inter Milan (2 Serie A titles and 1965 European Cup) and Roma.

Peiro later worked as a coach inc. managing Atletico and Malaga.

Peter Whittingham (8 September 1984 - 19 March 2020)

died aged 35 having suffering a head injury in a fall at a pub on March 7th.
Peter is survived by his pregnant wife and a son.

debuting with his local club Aston Villa in 2003, after 66 matches
Whittingham left for second tier Cardiff in 2007 (after loan spells
with Derby and Burnley).

there he flourished as a versatile goal scoring midfielder also able to
play in more forward roles.
Peter played in the 2008 FA Cup Final defeat to Portsmouth and also
the 2012 League Cup Final lost on penalties to a poor Liverpool.
he finally helped Cardiff to the Premier League for the first time
in over fifty years in 2013 but after starting well they suffered
immediate relegation.
Peter was voted in the Championship team of the season three times
including in 2010 after scoring 20 League goals that season.
Whittingham was also player of the year at Cardiff twice.
in total he scored 96 goals in 457 in a decade at Cardiff, as a key
player in a golden era for the club.

in 2017 he left Cardiff, retiring after a final season at Blackburn.
at international level Peter won 17 U21 caps for England.

Amadeo Carrizo (1926 - 20 March 2020)
River Plate and Argentina goalkeeper has died aged 93.

Carrizo spent over 20 years playing for River from 1945.
in the early part of his career Alfredo Di Stefano, a player
also born in 1926, was a team mate in one of the greatest
club teams South America has seen.
At River Carrizo won 7 Argentine Championships.
leaving River in aged 42 in 1968 he continued playing with
Alianza Lima and Millonarios Bogota.
Carrizo won 20 caps including playing in the 1958 World Cup.

Sol Kerzner (1935 -2020)

Kerzner was a South African hotel tycoon who owned the Sun City resort.

beginning in 1981 Sun City became infamous for hiring the likes of Frank Sinatra, Millie Jackson, Rod Stewart, Queen, Cher, Status Quo, Elton John among others to play there for large sums of money breaking the apartheid boycott.
