With the approach of the Winter solstice only the words of French philosophers can remind us that brighter days are ahead. We are certainly going to be OUT celebrating the return of the sun to our lives and we will be helped by a Franco-Irlandais line-up that will shine as bright as the stars in the sky! Celebrate music and passion and all that’s in fashion at the - Copa- Annesley House - Cabanna! (€10 at the door only)

Pauline Paris. This citizen of the city of light will be bringing her very original style of songs and stories to our little venue come December. Somewhere between Edith Piaf and Rita Mitsouko, with wild and lurid tales to tell, Pauline Paris counts Nina Simone, Boris Vian, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and Tom Waits as her major influences. Bring it on!

Founder member of the group ‘Dogs’, Paul Péchenart was reared on British and French punk rock from its earliest emergence at the end of the sixties and was there when The Stooges, Led Zepplin and Steppenwolf raged their way through the 70s and 80s. His talent and verve has kept him playing across Europe for more than 3 decades. His energy is unmatchable as is his guitar virtuosity - anger, music and poetry belong together in Pechenart’s music.

John Hegarty has released two albums,Twilight and Guiding Light, featured in RTE music series Other Voices and his song ‘Limerick’ was featured on the Other Voices: Songs from a Room album. An accomplished arranger and multi-instrumentalist, Hegarty has been working in the Dublin music scene for the last 20 years and has guested on albums by Barry McCormack, Seti the First and The Sick and Indigent Song Club. He has just finished a new solo album, Into The Great Unknown and is working on an album with the music collective, Lets Get Lost.

Mary Barnecutt and Kevin Murphy have played for us before. Together, they were two of our earliest guests with the beautiful Seti the First concert in 2012; Kevin returned with his trio Slow Moving Clouds which was a feast of Irish and Nordic spell-binding melodies. Mary also came back to us with her magical Mary and the Pigeons which includes cello, viola, violin and piano as well as her own beautifully crafted songs - or poems put to music. Mary also played on last year’s performance of Paula Lonergan’s play, A Grey Area. So what will it be this time? We only know this: we are proud and very happy to welcome them back to celebrate the power of music with us!
