Sally Rooney book made into a tv show starts airing this week.

I haven't read the book of course, but judging by the trailers I've seen it looks like it will be a massive cliche-fest. Thing is though maybe that's fair enough because Trinity is jammed full of walking cliches.

It’s Lenny Abrahamson and he’s good-ish but the fact that it’s bbc makes me cautious. Their dramas are usually shockingly bad

Ah the Beeb have done plenty of good shows, dirty english bastards that they are. Their War and Peace was actually very well done, and their take on Les Miserables wasn't a total shit-fest (although it was fairly uninteresting at the same time).

I mean more the contemporary stuff that rips off American prestige TV like Peaky Blinders, Bodyguard, Years and Years etc. There’s a level of beeb cheese to the production.
