New albums worth listening to (1 Viewer)

Gave the new Anadol album 'Felicita' a couple of spins this morning after neglecting it since getting it initially. First side excellent, second side, bit more of a challenge. Didn't warm to it as immediately as I did to her first LP. But absolutely worth a listen.

ha! I just came here to post this- i think you may have tipped me off to her first album on a previous thread and it has since become a modern classic in the shitepipe household. Definitely agree with your assessment on this one too- not as engaging as the first album but still coming back to it alot..

I am not talking smack but I found the first side a challenge

Couldn't make it to the second
I may not have the right ears

Btw, the lack of beyonce commentary here is DEAFENING

Can't bring myself to listen to the Beyoncé album, what's the point? You either have to give it 10/10 across the board or be lectured about how you're wrong. Let the beyhive have their album, I'm gonna go listen to something that I can engage with.

It's a very modern release

She put an Easter egg of ableist lyrics in for fans to find and complain about online

Very few artists are that thoughtful
Ahaha

I see Kelis moaned about Milkshake being referenced and Beyoncé just went "ok" and deleted the reference.

Ima fix wolves

She has written or co written a list of hit songs the length of your arm.
She specialises in big mushy love songs.

Took me a few listens as it's slower than their usual stuff but new 50 Foot Wave is pretty decent CRUSHING rock.

It's very much music for the faithful 40 odd years into Kristin Hersh's "career" but damn, alt rock ain't dead yet.

Ah here, I'm getting in on this lad

Thanks!

No worries! One of his earlier LPs "Kakashi" got very popular on YouTube and was released a few years ago. Also worth checking out — and it has an excellent cat painting on the sleeve.

There's also IQ 179, which also has an excellent sleeve and is a pretty demented record in places. Probably my favourite of the three.
