Overview:
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is the second album by American indie rock band Neutral Milk Hotel. It was released in the United States on February 10, 1998 on Merge Records and May 1998 on Blue Rose Records in the United Kingdom.
Jeff Mangum moved from Athens, Georgia to Denver, Colorado to prepare the bulk of the album's material with producer Robert Schneider, this time at Schneider's newly created Pet Sounds Studio at the home of Jim McIntyre. The album was the sixth-best-selling vinyl album in 2008.

Excellent. The other albums, I know & love (I must do a review of the smiffs album) I've heard NMH mentioned a lot but never listened it. I'll report back my "findings"

At last something I've never heard by a band I've never heard of beyond recognising the name

Woohoo!

No clue about these guys. I had assumed they were some contemporary outfit. This is going to be interesting.

If I find they don't really do it for me I have dibs on the "neutral" pun.

120 seconds in... and I'm going back to listening to Suffocation

Ah now here's one I've been meaning to listen to for years. An old internet friend of mine grew up in the South and the Elephant 6 bands were huge for him and his buds and he recommended it time and again but I just never got round to it. Till now.

Also, I read Jeff Mangum's name as Jeff Magnum for years. (I prefer my malapropism.)

I like this loads and all but so far the only album club album that I didn't know really well is this fucking Bowie one. Looking forward to hearing something new soon. But til then this'll do. The bleedin' lovely saw.

This bagpipe synth thing is fucking class.

Reminds me of Roy Woods solo shit

It ends in good time..yer mans singing was starting to grate on me

I'll have no qualms about giving it a couple more spins..its certainly rather fresh sounding to these old ears
