· The first release from Neil Young’s long awaited Archive Performance series is here with Live At The Fillmore East. In 2006, Neil Young delivered another hit album, Living With War, and toured with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Thirty-six years earlier in 1970, Young toured with CSN&Y and released his platinum album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, after which he performed a series of shows at New York City’s then-new Fillmore East with his band Crazy Horse. That concert finally makes its official debut in the annals of rock history with Live At The Fillmore East, and the circle is unbroken for one of rock’s greatest singer-songwriters.

· Live At The Fillmore East includes an extended “Down By The River” and a 16-minute “Cowgirl In The Sand” (which has previously appeared only on a ’90s import). Country barnburner “Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown” would later be heard on 1975’s Tonight’s The Night live album. 1977’s Decade collection contained a studio take of the countrified folk-rocker “Winterlong.

That's cool alright yeah BUT....more live stuff.....pfff......what I REALLY fucking want is cleaned up versions of the tracks on the 5CD bootleg Archives Be Damned thing and whatever else he has hidden away.

Evening Coconut deserves to be as well known as Like A Hurricane!

Finally got hold of a copy of the Fillmore thing the other day. It's fantastic. Looking forward to the next one ..

you'll take the scraps Neil throws us and LIKE IT!!!!!!

i'd love to hear unreleased studio shit as well...especially tracks where he might start yelling at, say, the Horse, or outtakes from Harvest where he'd flip on Buttrey for playing more than "boom-boom-tak"....

heh heh...very innerestin'.

seconded. what am i looking at/for?

A shed load of Neil Young bootlegs/compilations (deadly link, but it is quite slow and goes down a lot, so be patient!)

such as this one:

Archives Be Damned (ABD) 2000 is a compilation of songs from throughout Neil Young's career that have never been on albums and are not available today. It is an update of the original ABD with some songs removed because they are now on albums and dozens added. It is re-mastered re-sequenced, and includes a couple of tunes I had never heard before embarking on this project.

A shed load of Neil Young bootlegs/compilations (deadly link, but it is quite slow and goes down a lot, so be patient!)

AWESOME. i wasn't waiting long enough for pages to load.

now, HOW THE F*%K DO I PLAY FLAC FILES? :)

Yeah, this is what I'm talking about....some of these tracks are really great (such as the groovy Evening Coconut) but the quality lets them down, a lot of them are audience recordings.

Which makes me so frustrated thinking that Mr. Young has "proper" versions hidden away at his ranch. Even a one cd best-of would probably do me at this stage rather than these live cds/dvds he's putting out.

From reading Shakey, the biography by Jimmy McDonagh, I'm sure there are decent studio versions of most of these and all sorts of other goodies.

I love Neil but he's such a prick, he won't even release Time Fades Away on cd!!
