ours were fast asleep and in their cots at 7:45pm two nights ago. it felt like a different world. i raced downstairs to get chores done and had a can and a whiskey with TV. pure bliss.

then they woke up screaming at 9.30, 10, 11.00, 11.40, 12.20, 12.50...

couldn't face the world yesterday.

See minor complaint re: Pokemon card game. It takes AGES. Just what I need after a long day in work.

Both kids have been sleeping very well of late, so I've been taking the opportunity to stay up until midnight followed by a solid 6.5/7 hours sleep. Last night my son ran in at 4:30am screaming that he couldn't find his Minion, a kinder surprise toy that he'd taken to bed. He woke everyone. Then I got an elbow in the back and was told go help him find his Minion. I wasn't impressed.

I'm never able to go to bed before midnight no matter how little sleep I'm likely to get.

Was up to 2am last night watching Mr Tumble and reading up on vasectomies on my phone. Horse = bolted.

I hate this bit, the few months either side of 2... the bit where you wonder who this psychotic child is and if your pleasant child will ever come back.

Two year old ripped the doors off the toy kitchen, her brother's toy kitchen but he shares it with her, chunks pulled out of the pulpwood doors where she literally ripped them off their hinges. Then she tried to blame her brother. Two year olds are really unpleasant.

Yikes. My little lad is approaching that age. Better batten down the hatches, maybe literally!

Thoughts and prayers! Seriously! Right now she is screaming about wanting to go outside, but won't put on shoes or socks... I've half a mind to bring her out in her bare feet.

Yesterday I had to sit in the far corner of the room before he would touch his dinner. Could be the start of something :(
