Playing at an open pub session is odd in a way. New people show all the time, and will know some of the tunes being played, or they'll play a tune no-one has ever played before in the pub and someone will know it. And the crowd, many of whom might have never been in the place before (like last night when what looked like a wedding party arrived) will sing along. It really brings home to you that you're part of a culture
