That could be the case with mine too.Damp got into the housing and messed up the PCB functions as best as I could work out there isn't really that much else I could do.

the two screws on there are usually
time- how long it stays on
sensititivity - how close a life form expelling radiation has to be to it to set it off
if that helps.

hey - it's 16 months since I hurt my back so it was due
other daft things that have sprained my back over the years -
running upstairs, lifting a stool off a bar and tying my shoes.
