My girlfriend is probably going to have to give up her side-gig as they mailed everyone the week before Christmas that everyone will have to get their own insurance from January on. It won't be worth her while any more.
I think Catherine Zappone might have sorted this out today

MAJOR COMPLAINT:
the principal of my former secondary school has checked if female pupils
skirts are 'too short' by making the girls line up and with the head teacher
of the particular year also assisting.
the person who told me this said in her daughter's case both teachers were male.

also some years ago the same principal also sent out flyers for Michael Lowry
with a school letter to parents.
even when someone on the school board called him out on this and it got
on the front of the local newspaper he refused to apologize.

i'm amazed how little outside jurisdiction there is over a school.
in both of these cases a mandatory public apology and a warning about
his future conduct would have been a mild response.
personally i think TUSLA should be involved.
but who (if anyone) has the power to tell the man he's out of order ?
i've never met him but he doesn't seem to ever apologize or care what
anyone thinks.

Sounds like someone who needs to be blindfolded, bundled into a van, stripped naked and fucked out the back door up a mountain

"Poofy Den" is from my area in Donegal. He did a couple of years for child abuse, should have been a lot more. Recently at mass the priest brought up the subject of child abuse. He crouched in his pew with his hands over his ears and his head bowed.

Sounds like a reformed man.

My point is, fuck these guys. Expose them and vilify them and destroy them, and let other cunts like them know that teaching is not a profession for child abusers of any description.

Agreed. Report the guards and to Tusla so at the very least there is a record of a complaint.

i do not think the male principal i've mentioned made skirt length an issue
for some sick enjoyment at all.
he simply doesn't realize what is wrong and won't let people correct him
despite being a stickler for rules himself.
even when told pupils and parents were upset about this or was offered
alternative solutions he wasn't interested.
this sounds typical of him : i'm right / i will not let people undermine me.

he's done a lot of positive things in his career but this is more someone who
is so used to calling shots in an organization he doesn't feel any responsibility
to answer to pupils or parents and probably his own staff.

why is someone paid by the state not more answerable ?

EDIT:
at least one school board member complained about the principal
sending out the Michael Lowry flyers to parents.
one of the board members resigned after the principal refused to
apologize insisting he did nothing wrong.
so even the local paper covering the Lowry flyers story made no difference.
bizarre.

That’s not really relevant though if he is carrying on in an inappropriate manner with teenagers/kids who are vulnerable in a situation like this. It all sounds like a pattern of behaviour that needs to be addressed and how can people be held accountable if they are not reported to the relevant authorities (I sound like an oul fella here). The school board is one thing but clearly they have no influence, Guards and Tusla are the logical step forward. Maybe contact the journalist who covered the leaflet story too.
