When I got my dog I'd jokingly say that I felt a bit new-parenty about him. But I'd never have said that I'm his dad.

As an aside, as an adopted person I don't like the use of the term "adopt" for "getting a new pet."

I think it’s more the creepy click bait websites calling the pet owners mom and dad that creeps me out. The owners doing it themselves doesn’t particularly bother me.

When drivers on a bigger road than yours stop to let you pull out. I just want to ignore them, but then they start waving at you while raging traffic builds up behind them. Those drivers then think I am the one breaking the fucking rules of the road!!
