Middle aged pleasures (1 Viewer)

being continually shocked how selfish my generation is.
i don't know how youngsters put up with us.

seems like every generation makes similar mistakes.
WE ARE TOTALLY FUCKED.
(but at least i have some cred for admitting this)

Getting excited over new kitchenware. Got a brand new pan and it’s a joy to cook with

I bought a couple of knives from Lídl a year or so ago. Finding great value, another middle aged pleasure. Got a bollocking off the missus for wasting money as we got a set of knives from her brother the week before. I was like "Yeah but try mine. Be careful, they're sharp".

Present day, her brothers knife set is now totally fucked. My knives are still awesome.
Proving yourself right to the spouse, another middle aged pleasure.

That's 3 MAP's in one post.

WHAT.

That was one of my big disappointments on the journey from youth to middle-age. For some reason I thought we'd do things differently (and better) than our parent's generation, but we didn't really (apart from repealing the 8th, and same sex marriage, I suppose)

30+ years ago when i was 13-14, i seriously thought my generation were going
to change the world.
i couldn't imagine us turning into 17-18 year olds (who seemed like terrible bores).
however at 15 i realized most of my the kids i knew were well on their way to
becoming like the older kids and probably eventually their like their folks.

i never really got over the disappointment of this.

most people go this route and maybe not even blindly, they simply just
accepted things as they are and didn't even put up a fight.
even at 17 i knew there was little hope of any major change in my lifetime
and i'd already given up on my generation.

the compromises people make to have a job, relationship, children,
mortgage, car, going to the pub, holidays etc etc are enormous.

i've said this here a few times now.
at least i never have to worry about any of this.

How simple and quick windows reinstall is these days. It even went and found all the driver it needed itself. Mad
Not to forget to mention Windows 10 is like something from science fiction. The greatest OS of them all

I put a new hardrive in yesterday and I am very pleased
