While it’s depressing to think of your parents getting old, it’s also funny to hear your pensioner father going on holiday to Porto with his best mate, texting you pictures of himself smoking an drinking in bars, asking you “what cocktails Don Draper drinks” and his mate falling over pissed in a bar and breaking his hip. It’s like a low budget The Trip but with older farts.

And before anyone says “oh that’s horrible”, his mate is recovering, sees the funny side and my dad got left with the bar tab.
