In 2013, Improvised Music Company pay homage to the most versatile and expressive of instruments with ; a contemporary guitar series featuring solo guitarists who reflect the centrality of this instrument in today’s music, from jazz and improvisation, to rock and folk traditions.

With an extensive background that includes six solo releases, New Yorker Marc Ribot plays The Sugar Club on March 13th. Since the 80’s he’s kept good company across the musical spectrum, from Tom Waits and T Bone Burnett to John Zorn and Scorsese soundtracks. Live, it all distills into a road trip through Americana, filtered through a very personal sonic landscape.
