I've spent too much time in minor complaints.

I finished work at whatever o'clock, and was leaning against a lamp post in a queue for a 24 hour shop. The couple in front of me turned around, they were on it, and one said "You look like you're in a movie". The other said "you look like you're in a band".

And there was no badness to what they said. None of that, you know, Irish way of saying something like that. "I'm saying you look good mate". Genuine nice compliments from people buying booze at three in the morning. Then they apologised, and I apologised for them feeling like they needed to apologise.

England is shit, but not all of it is shit. But at least I look good.

What/who is that? Honestly, I'm culturally inept here.

But yeah, actually that's quite close, sans satchel, and no smile and more tiredness. Also, cooler. I've been cultivating my "I'm a nice guy, but I'm tired and I can spot a cunt a mile away and I want to get drunk" schtick for a while.

Someone you've never met? Is this an internet friend?
Yes, part of a group on a blog and then Twitter.
Eventually exchanged addresses and then Christmas cards.
She lost her job and moved to a new town and has been fixing up her new place.
I've been trying to support her in various ways with this.

Apparently my cholesterol levels are great! I'm going out for chips and crisps and pastries*

*not really, salad and salmon for tea this evening
I am fucking chuffed for you, man
That is awesome

To get my levels down I have promised my friend I will cut out eating animals and animal fats :-(
Starting at the end of September

It's the last phase of the 'diet & exercise' cure
I am fucking dreading it
But it's that or pills
And I don't ever want pills

My adorable niece on her way to ComicCon

Her costume is super cool, but it's great to see them identify things in the world that appeal to them and lock in hard, and then be creative about it
