I saw US Maple supporting Pavement once, I had no idea who they were but I loved it and most of the Pavement fans hated it and shouted abuse all the way through. They seemed to thrive on the hostility.

I'm fond of a bit of Pavement... but musically/artistically U.S Maple are in a different stratosphere.

It's also funny that, what, 30 years and 5/6 LPs in, there hasn't been an ounce of development as a band. Every song is interchangeable from any record.

Isn't that pretty much their whole aesthetic remit? I mean there's no need for a prefix you could just call Shellac core.
