so here’s an interesting one. I’ve never seen anything like this before...

I overclocked my desktop pc’s cpu (an old i7-2600k) to 4.5ghz a couple of weeks back, which involved some voltage tweaking in the bios, and now whenever I turn my desk lamp on or off the pc crashes... they’re both plugged into the same double wall socket so it’s probably just power spikes or fluctuations causing problems for the cpu now that it’s being pushed a bit more than intended, but still a bit weird.

older lightbulbs used more power getting up to temperature than they do once they've reached it. I don't know if this applies to modern led/halogen etc ones, but potentially a different bulb might be cheaper than a different power supply?
