About Lie Ins
We're putting on this gig so bear in mind, anything we say here is nothing less than self-promotion, so really, can you believe it? That caveat dispensed with, here's The Blurb: With Michael Stevens on guitar/songwriting and Ruan van Vliet on drums, Lie Ins’ quasi-social and quasi-political swipes, wisecracking humour and heartfelt balladry have beguiled and bewildered Irish audiences in equal measure at their high-octane gigs. A debut album, Death to Lie Ins, has just been released on Popical Island and has received some very nice plaudits altogether.

Press about Death to Lie Ins
"places equal weight on absurdity and brevity, as their thrasy lo-fi blasts of guitar and drums work brilliantly on the gleefully frantic Cold Comfort and the charmingly ragged Universal Truth" - The Ticket (Irish Times)

"a bright, breezy and much-needed injection of sonic sunshine" - Hot Press

"an album that crackles with wit and vigour" - Alternative Ulster.

"With jangly, infectious melodies and a sense of mischief in the witty lyrics ‘Death To Lie Ins’ rattles along at a fine pace, slowing only to reflect on some wryly observed reminiscences." - GoldenPlec.com
" an accomplished collection of garage pop nuggets that doesn’t take itself too seriously" - We are Noise

Jonny Fun and the ...Hesitations
We've said it before but it bears repeating. Jonny Fun and the ...Hesitations', 2010 album “Carpe PM” is a thing of poetic charm and understated wit that has stood the testoftime: well, 3 years and counting. Hailing from Washington, near Newcastle (UK) and not the one in America, he is one of our favourite songwriters and we like how he pronounces 'coke' ("coak").

Big Monster Love
We could bang on about Big Cormac's rare songwriting, cute-hoor insights and delightfully anachronistic presence on the Dublin indie scene for hours. But if you're coming to this gig you already know this so why not for a change just look at his blog of historical this-and-that. It's really rather good: http://irishmemory.blogspot.ie/.
