LAND LOVERS
That's us. Pop music, a bit of a 1979-81 Elvis Costello thing at times, some catchy bits and loud choruses and middle eights and what-not.

SLEEP THIEVES

Sleep Thieves bridge the gap between quirky-indie and dancey-electro. According to Analogue Magazine Sleep Thieves “create music that in one moment trips lightly along in a swirling hush of gentle vocals, dainty keys and stomping electronic beats, while the next moment swells with driving electronic drums and growling, dirty synths.”

Since their live debut in November 2008, Sleep Thieves have played some notable shows including the 2009 IMRO Showcase, Club AC30 in Whelans, with Saint Etienne in Cork Opera House and Dark Room Notes at their album launch, with international artist Midori Hirano and at the Fight Like Apes curated Ruby Sessions shows in Doyle’s, Dublin. Many of Ireland’s most prominent publications have commented on the band’s potential, with their track ‘Osumi’ being selected in the Hot Press list of ‘Best Irish songs of 2008’ poll, the same magazine suggesting to watch out for Sleep Thieves in 2009. Prominent Irish Times journalist Jim Carroll also included Sleep Thieves in his ‘3 new acts to watch’ report in his column in The Ticket in April 2009.

Sleep Thieves are building on this early work with their debut release ‘It Was Only A Satellite’ (out now), a four song EP that showcases both the gentler and the dancier end of their sonic spectrum. They have played shows around Ireland in Cork Opera House, Cypress Avenue, The Pavillion (Cork) and Roisin Dubh (Galway) to mark the release and further hone their already intense live performance. Tracks from the EP have been played on stations such as Phantom FM & 2FM (Dan Hegarty) and Sleep Thieves were profiled on The Listening Post on Phantom FM on 10th June. Most recently the track Osumi was selected for the Music Alliance Pact playlist of June 2009, appearing on 25 prominent worldwide blogs worldwide!

"quirky indie/pop...filled with clever lyrics" - fluxblog.com

"yeh deadlies are an oddball troupe plying mashed-up rockabilly-inflected pop" - Big Monster Love

"judge not the yeh deadlies for their glib title, and instead cock your ears at the clutch of rare loony tunes they're after laying." - Phantom FM demo of the month
