I got an e-mail from twitter asking me to confirm my e-mail address. I thought this was spam but I went to twitter and put in the e-mail address for lost password. It came up with an account linked to it.

I am thinking that this was an e-mail address that had a data breach on it and that is what is happening.

The account has no tweets, followers and is following no one. I've flagged it as not being my account. It had a name followed by 8 numbers.

Looking into it, how do twitter not look for their e-mail addresses on accounts verified before use?
