I've never had any interest in listening to judas priest but following david tibets recent news mailout in which he raved about how good they are i thought i'd listen to them in case i might like to go and see them in september. anyway, i got Hell Bent For Leather and its a load of shite. should i just forget about them now or are there other better albums i should listen to before finishing with them for good?

They go from
- old hippy rock
- nwobhm
- we got big in america
- synths wow!
- oops we need to get metal again
- new singer (pantera catch up)
- halford's back (haven't heard them)

for me the best albums are British Steel and Screaming for Vengance.

you should pick up the new album Nostadamus!
its a double cd concept based (loosely i would imagine) on the Life of Nostradamus.

i picked it up cheap online. i am a sucker for an album with a theme and art work to go with it!!!
you also get a code to apply for free tickets to a concert in the US come autumn.

And no one suspected Rob Halford might have actually been gay.

Ever seen "Heavy Metal parking lot", funny stuff!

When asked what she'd do if she met Rob Halford, a girl replies

"....um... I'd jump his bones"

later when they interview halford he says

"eh... sorry honey haven't you heard".

I can't have Painkiller at all. Defenders of the Faith is ok but for me they had peaked before that.

Only heard the odd tune here and there from the recent ones and they did nothing for me.

Painkiller was my proper introduction/ first album:oops: Do appreciate older nwobhm stuff, but the aggression of painkiller makes it tops.

I've heard the "single" from the new one a few times. It grows on you in a way that you think you've been living with this song for 30 years. It's nothing special though.

The song Painkiller doesn't know when to stop, and that's not a good thing,it just keeps going and getting more boring.

I listened to Rocka Rolla last night, fuck it's great.
