Right, we need help.
We are looking for someone to join team GNL. Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first. The people who own it are complete knobs. Almost impossible to work with and very disorganised. GNL HQ is a construction site (but by the time you start we should have our new pick and pack facility built). Like most startup Irish companies it is in our back garden, so part of your job will be kicking the dog when he barks and giving mother her Jameson up in the attic. And bathing her bed sores and rubbing her corns. You will also need to pretend you like the neighbours - which is hard coz they are awful pricks (Hi Tony and Mini - I'm thinking of you!). Your job will be wild and varied and to be perfectly honest could consist of anything but there are two roles on offer.
Role 1 is the physical work. Blending spices, pouring sauces, packing orders, going to the wholesaler (if you have a driving license), cleaning up, washing down, packing vans, unpacking vans, setting up markets, taking down markets, diy and maintenance, selling, buying, etc.
Role 2 is the office admin. Managing orders, finances, ordering ingredients, answering the bloody non stop phone calls, arranging couriers, doing inventory, keeping the website updated, and anything else required.
We pay well, we are flexible around hours, it is interesting, it is not overly hard work but we do like working hard, there will be BBQs, and you will meet people.
Social distancing is not going to be very easy around here, so consider that. We will follow the guidance and do our best, but we work in confined spaces.
We will consider students on school holidays, but the job does require a mature head as you are either dealing with 30 litre boiling hot pots of sauce, or you are dealing with our money. Either could end up in you lying on the floor screaming if you make a small mistake.
If you are going to apply make sure you are a hard working and extremely honest and decent person. Think now about whether you can work on your own initiative and get on with it. You will be on your own a lot of the time. You will need to be sensible and good at problem solving. You do not need experience but it might help.
Applications by email only to [email protected]. If you are too young to have an email send us a TicTac and ask your granddad to email us instructions on how to open it.
depends on levels of insanity being caused. It's not the sensible thing in a pandemic that's destroying the world economy but still thinking i'm gonna quit my job because it's driving me fucking insane.
Thoughts?
Sat down with my boss and explained this. Might be able to go part time, class. It's surprisingly hard to find a job where you don't have to pretend it's a career.
good stuff. I've been pretty-much part-time for the entirety of the pandemic. It takes a wee bit of getting used to and, while there are definitely downsides, the upsides are great, especially during the summer months.Sat down with my boss and explained this. Might be able to go part time, class.
