Just spent an obscene amount of money on heated cycling gloves

They have a USB yoke and you plug them in and they stay warm for hours, which means your little fingers stay warm for hours also

The kind of purchase that triggers whatever hard-coded Catholic guilt a lot of us have

That’s grand and all but do they do heated shoe covers?

I treated myself to a new saddle and handlebar grips there over the christmas - the previous saddle was an old sponge filled yoke which predictably filled up with water, and even with a saddle cover left me looking like I had shit/pissed myself half the time, the old handlebar grips had degenerated into a black goo, which I had tastefully covered with duct-tape for a classic 'held together with string' look.

I don't know meself now so I dont...

Yeah. At one point Nashbar had this GR2 (??) saddle, which fit me. So I bought a few of them, and I've reached the end of life on the last one now. No sign of them on their site.

I think it was basically a Fizik Arione clone, for about a tenth of the price. But maybe it wasn't? That's the thing about saddles, an expensive one MIGHT be good, or not. Nashbar own brand GR2s were so cheap I could take a guess. I'm a bit more leery about taking a guess on 150 euro or whatever.

Finally did the mayo greenway*.

Westport to newport isn't mindblowing but the rest is.
Added on a bit to go out to the edge of Achill Island which is lovely but also adding an hour or so of hillclimbing on the end.

*did little bits before
Would you recommend this over other routes?
Do you have a favourite?

I'm considering doing the ROyal Canal Greenway in March, but this sounds more interesting, with more to look at

I'd recommend doing westport all the way to the tip of achill on day one, and the reverse on day 2. I guess if time was limited trim it down for sure, but I do sorta thing of starting in a reasonable enough town and see and all these landscapes reveal themselves is a nice part of it.
